[Tsubaki] Random anime music encounter
Popularity: 10% [?] 25 Comments Published by Tsubaki June 19th, 2008 in TsubakiNothing is more amazing then to sitting in your living room having lunch and discover that someone in your neighborhood playing Neon Genesis Evangelion’s “残酷な天使のテーゼ [Zankoku na Tenshi no Te-ze (Thesis of a Cruel Angel)]” by Yoko Takahashi on the piano. This comes as a surprise for me because I’ve always thought my area had no otakus around. And besides, the only person that played the piano would always be playing the typical classical music pieces. But apparently, this person has blown his cover today. BETCHA THINK NOBODY WOULD RECOGNIZED WHAT YOU’RE PLAYING HUH?
[Tsubaki] RIUVA’s PostSecrets for Otakus
Popularity: 8% [?] 15 Comments Published by Tsubaki June 16th, 2008 in TsubakiSome of you may be familiar with PostSecret project. It’s a site where people would anonymously write their secrets on cards and send them where it will later be posted on the website. It’s a great way to unload the painful burden of keeping a secret to yourself, and reading them also helps others realize that they aren’t the only one with such a secret.
From today onwards, RIUVA will start a PostSecret section for anime related secrets. You may harbor dark secrets towards anime series, characters, seiyuus, even animebloggers that you can’t never tell anyone about. Or maybe you just don’t have anyone to tell to. We know Otakus have more secrets than ordinary people. That’s why we’re starting this for you.
[Tsubaki] Haruhi appears in Banned Singapore political film
Popularity: 8% [?] 8 Comments Published by Tsubaki June 14th, 2008 in TsubakiWe all love e-dorama, but nothing beats Singapore politics dorama. Which probably explains why we Singaporean bloggers are such excellent producers of e-doramas. Now what I’m going to show you today, will probably change you opinion of the local government and rethink about the way Singapore is being run. RIUVA btw, adopts this efficient ruling system. So if you’re still not ready to be unplugged from The Matrix, don’t watch.
This is complete version of the banned film One Nation Under Lee, a documentary directed by Seelan Palay. This film was seized by Government officials when it premiered at a private screening on 17th May 2008. There’s a slight audio off-sync, but it’s still watchable.
[Tsubaki] Man goes on a stabbing spree, kills 7 people in Akihabara
Popularity: 8% [?] 7 Comments Published by Tsubaki June 9th, 2008 in TsubakiI interrupt the usual anime fanfare with a disturbing news from the holy land of the otakus.
Just yesterday, A man plowed into shoppers with a truck Sunday and then stabbed 17 people within minutes, killing at least seven of them. His reason? “He said he was tired of life. He said he was sick of everything“. I can’t even think of anything funny to say, other than how disturbing this is and how the media will undoubtedly blame animes like Higurashi for such an influence. More details of the incident can be found here:
