I always have a habit of listening to music while reading my stack of History readings. Usually the readings will be Times New Roman font size 10, 10 + pages, double sided and might start from a single digit century (For example, the 5th century). There are times when I doze off completely before I reach the last page, hence, here’s where music comes into place. Songs with quick tempo and lyrics with catchy phrases will keep me awake. I’ll be listing the OP and ED music that I usually tune listen to but it’s just my personal preference. Don’t get offended when your favorite OP or ED did not make it into my personal mp3 player ya.

Not in order of preference;
(Anime OP/ED; Title; Singer)

  1. Air TV OP; Tori no Uta; Lia
  2. Black Blood Brothers OP; Ashita no Kioku; Naozumi Takahashi

  11. Konjiki no Gash Bell OP1; Kimi ni Kono Koe ga Todokimasu Youni; Tanimoto Takeyoshi
  12. Madlax OP; Hitomi no Kakera; FictionJunction Yuuka
  13. Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS; Pray; Nana Mizuki
  14. Maria-sama ga Miteru Season III ED; Kirei na Senritsu; Kotoko
  15. Murder Princess OP; Hikari Sasuhou; Back-on

  26. Rosario+Vampire OP; Cosmic Love; Nana Mizuki
  27. Rosario+Vampire ED; Dancing in the Velvet Moon; Nana Mizuki
  28. Ikkitousen Dragon Destiny OP1; Heart & Soul; Gankou Mai
  29. Ikkitousen Dragon Destiny ED1; Garasu no Hana; Iori
  30. Shakugan no Shana ED1; Yoake Umarekuru Shoujo; Takahashi Yoko

  37. Sola OP; Colourless Wind; Aira Yuki
  38. You’re Under Arrest: Full Throttle OP; Mighty Body; AA-CHINO

Some might have guessed it right; I’m a Kotoko and Nana Mizuki fan as I find their vocals unique. Disappointingly, I’m unsure what other songs they have sung so far. Hence, I only know of the above few.

I actually prefer slower paced music with lesser beats. however, I might reach dream land sooner than expected when I tune in to them while studying. There’s definitely many other wonderful OP and ED out there that I’m unaware of, it’s just that the above are what I usually listen to and it’ll be great if I get to know more fast tempo OP/ED to tide me through this studying period. Feel free to recommend any to me, thanks.

To all from RIUVA, best wishes for your upcoming exams!

Wait.. You’ve left out some stuff.

Blood OST: Grand Theme; Diva’s Theme
Gintama: Shura; Kasanaru Kage; Speed of Flow; Giniro no Sora

Generally, there are gems within the OSTs of most anime series. For example, I believe Mai HiME would have some, Nodame Cantabile would have some, True Tears has two nice emo tracks etc..

My point: Check the OSTs carefully; there are gems in there!

    ^ seconded.

Also, I’ve tried the Aria The Origination Dipartenza Eiko Shimamiya’s Hikarinadeshiko album as my studying partner, but I later found out that the effect is the opposite ~_~

I hate music when studying. It’s so distracting. I like to hold a pen with my left hand to take down notes and my penis with my right hand.

Music helps to distract you from other distractions….It keeps u in your ‘own world’, enabling u to study better. As outside distractions are eliminated.

    My picks:
City Hunter OP1 - Ai Yo Kienaide
Cyber Formula Saga OP - Identity Crisis
Martian Successor Nadesico OP - You Get To Burning (my fav!!!)
Macross Plus (movie?) - Do You Remember Love
Macross (TV series) ED - Runner
Maison Ikkoku OP2 - Alone Again (by Gilbert O’Sullivan)

    You should try:
    “Leah - Calling”
From the The World Ends With You OST

Nana Mizuki has a shitload of stuff out right now; The Museum has a good number of pretty good non-anime tracks, though I wouldn’t know if you’d want that.

Kotoko sung both OP songs of Hayate no Gotoku =|

I find that the True Tears OST alone is sufficient for long mugging periods. Even though I’ve never touched the show, the soundtrack is EXCELLENT. Rotating the Spice and Wolf OST with it works too.

    @Zeroblade
Thanks for the information on The Museum, checking it out now. I’m “outdated” when it comes to the music industry. xd

“Songs with quick tempo and lyrics with catchy phrases”
Caramelldansen, Okkusenman, Capirinha, Airman ga Taosenai, and, above all, IOSYS songs.

Do not use any < and > for your own sake. It will end the comment there and then. Also, there is an automatic IQ filter which weeds out comments made by those who accidentally got transported from the stone age.
