Day 2 of Cosfest VII is also the day when the Cosplay Competition is held, and the winner of the Cosplay Competition was to receive an invitation to represent Singapore in the World Cosplay Summit 2008. As TJ was not present today, I’m afraid I’m the only one left here who has coverage of the 2nd day of Cosfest, so bear with me while I spam pictures yet again. Since I’ve already covered the doujin booths and companies in the previous article, today will be all about the cosplay on that day.

Let’s start off with, again, some random cosplay photos.

Some random cosplay to start off with

No, Kouji, THIS is Len. Yesterday was Rin, I’m almost sure of it.

A couple of characters from the game Ninety-Nine Nights. They’re participants in the Group category of the Cosplay Competition.

Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion from Sailor Moon. Also Cosplay Competition participants.

Ichigo with….I’m going to guess that she’s playing Konata, but I can’t say for sure.

The IAH girls received a lot of attention from photographers, for obvious reasons.

By L’s standards, this is considered a diet.

You can never miss a Haruhi at these kind of events, although…

…Oharuhi-sama, what have you wrought?!

Suigintou and Shinku of Rozen Maiden. They are also Cosplay Competition participants

Generic Lolita. She managed to catch Kokanaden’s eye, and indeed half the reason I even bothered to snap her is because he asked me to.

Highlights of the Day

Cornelia and Euphemia Li Britannia

Be it in war or in peace…

Through diplomacy or arms…

We shall create a better future for ourselves!

ALL HAIL BRITANNIA!!!

GN-001 Gundam Exia

Yesterday’s appearance seems to have been just a full-dress rehearsal; Gundam Exia appeared at around 2 PM today, and this time, he made his rounds within the main area itself.

This time around, Exia equipped its Full Battle Order for its round, including GN-Blade, GN-Long and GN-Short Swords.

.

Exia is bemused at the many hands wielding cameras snapping away at it.

My GN-Blade is the blade that will pierce the heavens!!!

Exia drops by the gun store, and considers getting an upgrade for its unreliable GN-Rifle.

Exia listens closely to the words of a Priestess of the Gundam Faith.

And the day is come when millions accepted the Lord Exia as their Saviour, and Setsuna F. Seiei as His Prophet.

Cosplay Competition

Of course, the highlight of the 2nd day was the Cosplay Competition, the winner of which would represent Singapore at the annual World Cosplay Summit in Nagoya. The Competition is divided into Single and Group categories.

Single

Sora from Kingdom Hearts, looking as if he just took a punch to his gut.

It’s yesterday’s Gintoki…

…and Kakashi again.

L mopes around while sucking on a lollipop, teaching kids the virtues of not littering.

And Awakened Claire from Claymore closes off the Singles category.

By the way, why the heck were there so goddamned many Bleachtards hogging the category?!

Group

These two were the undisputed kings of stand-up comedy on the day, doing a surprisingly standard boke-tsukkomi manzai setup to great effect. Although, it is disturbing that whenever their jokes slip into BL territory, the sudden increase in the decibel count reveals just how many FYGs were present in the audience….

Blah, shitty compact strikes again. Anyway, the Rozen Maiden duo did skits that seem to reflect the relationship between the characters they were portraying.

Vincent Valentine and Lucretia did a tragic dance-skit that wowed the audience, but then proceeded to kill their chances with enough cheese to make a year’s supply of pizza for C.C. in the inpromptu second act.

The game plan of the Sailor Moon duo? From beginning to end, in the first and the second skits;
Dorama, dorama, and more dorama.

And the winners are…

Dorama, dorama and more dorama worked for Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion, and they will be representing Singapore in the WCS in August.

L was the winner of the Singles category, with Gintoki and Kakashi getting the Special Singles award, and the manzai duo getting the Special Group award. Congratulations to all!

(BTW Gintoki, you just got caught by pure bad luck. Loser. :p )

To wrap things up…

Rena from Higurashi, complete with cleaver.

Shihou Matsuri and Morimiya Aono from Sola. I’m just surprised that there would be anyone around here who would know about Sola in the first place, much less cosplay them…

Rika, the winner of the karaoke competition yesterday, singing the Nico Nico Douga again, this time with her good friend Cornelia Li Britannia.

If fighting is sure to result in victory then you must fight!

Uguu~

Needs moar Spiral Energy.

And to put things at an end, L signs off on Cosfest VII.

Ascaloth of RIUVA, signing out of the coverage of Cosfest VII at Downtown East.

    Didn’t Exia enter the contest? He’d be a shoo-in to win it.

    @x,

    Eh, I can’t really tell the difference anyway. I just went by who is obviously girl and who is obviously boy….

    @Steven,

    Exia is TOO GOOD for the contest, methinks. ;)

    EXIA is too good for the contest indeed lol. And you got a better shot of the Mikuru Bunny than I did, damn.

    Missed the stand-up comedy between Dordonii and Ichigo, bah.

    @Panther,

    Indeed I did, too bad Bunny Mikuru emailed in with a request to take off her picture, that’s why we had to do so. orz

    @Kokanaden,

    I’m just one person, and I’m still a relative amateur as event reporter, of course I can’t catch everything.

    @C.I., Hirito and Teeif,

    I’m surprised there are so many Ayu fans here, heh.

    Personally, if it isn’t already obvious enough, I liked Cornelia a great deal. Apparently her real name (or stage name) is Masako. She’s awesome, I’ll pledge my alleigance to her anytime.

Do not use any < and > for your own sake. It will end the comment there and then. Also, there is an automatic IQ filter which weeds out comments made by those who accidentally got transported from the stone age.
