Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu (2009), Episode 8: Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody.

"What about the Special Theory of Relativity?"
I suppose it has been rendered obsolescent by the Special Theory of Haruhi-vity.

Kinsoku Jikou Desu~!

For some reason, I am reminded of FMP!’s Tessa when Mikuru went komarimasu. I wonder why that is.

Lucky bastard. I RAEGed.
On another note, one moment Mikuru was in her meidofuku in the clubroom, the next she was in her normal school uniform 3 years ago. I wonder how long she put Kyon to sleep? It’s entirely probable that she changed in the club room while Kyon was asleep in the same room, which would make this the second (or first) time this has happened. Huh. Maybe the guy’s not quite so lucky after all.

Actually, I take that back. Lucky bastard.

TIME PARADOX

"Kyon, have you heard that Haruhi drew strange symbols around the courtyard when she was in middle school?"
"Yeah, actually, that was me. orz."

"Do you believe in aliens?"
"I guess so."
And so a bespectacled girl joined the Literature Club of North High just as it was about to be abolished.

"How about time travellers?"
"I wouldn’t be surprised."
And so a 2nd-year girl from the Calligraphy Club was found daydreaming in her classroom.

"And espers?"
"They’re everywhere, I’d say."
And so a mysterious transfer student with a winning smile arrived at North High.

"And sliders?"
"Haven’t met them yet."
And so….there are no sliders. Yet.

"I am Smith. John Smith."
"Is that supposed to make me swoon or something?"

Nagato Yuki, from 3 years ago.

As the 2009 run is supposedly airing in a chronological order instead of the scrambled order which marked the 2006 run, it will be approximately 4 more weeks before we’ll get to see any new material….but if and when it comes, I will be there to cover it. For now, stay tuned for the Revival of Haruhi Suzumiya, as THE phenomenon of 2006 makes a comeback 3 years onwards in 2009.

Do not use any < and > for your own sake. It will end the comment there and then. Also, there is an automatic IQ filter which weeds out comments made by those who accidentally got transported from the stone age.

“If anyone does not love the Goddess, Suzumiya Haruhi, let him be accused, oh God come, AMEN!!!”
Hey, Nagato from 3 years back is exactly like Nagato in the present, is she like Dr. Manhattan and is like, experiencing events simultaneously?
It took them 3 years because Kyon had to time travel 3 years back.
See ? It all made sense.
Let nobody complain about KyoAni not following source material 100% anymore. Splicing new episodes into the first season is exactly what is needed to fix that jumbled up sequence of events.
By splicing, they are fixing the entire Haruhi anime sequence to present events and situations exactly like the light novels have covered.
LAUS HARUHI! NOS ALVEUS ITERUM IN LUX LUCIS OF SUUS VENIA! POLUS OPEROR INFIRMO IN EXCITO OF SUUS REVERTO! ERIGO VESTRI MANUUM QUOD VOX VOCIS IN LAUS! PRO DEUS IMPERATRIX REVERTO!
@myssa
Translation plz..
Eyeballing it: Glorious Haruhi (or maybe “glory to Haruhi”), we ??? (the only “alveus” I know translates roughly to “hollow” or “cavity”) again towards the light of her forgiveness, the heavens are weakened/diminished by the awakening/raising of her return, raise your hands and voices in glory, for the god empress’s return.
Or something like that. I don’t know, it’s late and I don’t know Latin very well.
@Tremere
Except they’re not. The light novels presented events in a jumbled fashion as well, although it wasn’t anywhere near as messed up as the original 06 broadcast.
Animation is different. That’s true, but I don’t have a problem with that.
A lot of people say Kyon is different, and while I would not get into argument with anyone about that, personally I don’t think it changed. His narrative still give me the feeling of the very same guy from three year ago, and the fact that his face shows emotion only around Mikuru is always there, 2006 or 2009.
All in all, I watch this and realized again how much I enjoy the show. And that’s all that matters.
@required name here
At the least the anime made more sense now with the correct sequence and filling in of the missing (new) chapters.
Well anyway, its good thing that they are following the novel which it all makes sense.
Also, how should i say the new ending (Tomare!) is kind of dull/plain…… but this is my opinion where the new ending shows Kyon’s perspective and old ending (Hare Hare Yukai) shows Haruhi’s perspective with dnacing.
Any suggestions or ideas of new and future Suzumiya?
Nagato could be actively trying to preserve the original timeline by wearing her megane in the presence of past-Kyon.
Well even with this new season, the cute antics of the SOS-dan is still set to end without a satisfying conclusion (2 years since the last published novel)
Holy shit. What a funny post. I especially LOLed @ Illegal Move. And many others.
THREE BLOOMING YEAR WAIT, now some new stuff, bout blooming time then. GODOT has nothing on these lads.
