Though she had come that much closer to understanding just  what made the other girls of the Light Music Club tick as one, Azusa continues to wonder just how they could have gotten anything done to begin with, and particularly whether the training camp which she’s going to go for with them for the first time would indeed have anything to do with training in the first place. And not without reason, as it would turn out, but as she spends ever more time with the original foursome, the more she sees what it means to make precious memories with precious friends; and slowly, by association, what truly makes the K-ON girls tick.

K-ON!, Episode 10.

Frankly, I can’t blame Yui for doing what she does, either.

Ooooh, I get it now. The reason why capable Ui-chan puts up with the otherwise utter uselessness of her onee-chan is because she’s a siscon. Yup, I get it all right. ^_^

Come to think about it, oujo-sama seem to make up a surprisingly significant number of the female population in anime. There are times when they seem almost a dime a dozen within the medium, most of whom sport a ridiculous amount of wealth in their families just like Mugi-chan. So the question is; just how prevalent are they in real-life? Or in real-life Japan, at least?

Are we sure that these two aren’t sisters? They certainly look the part, in more ways than one. Perhaps they are sisters after all….sisters in brokenness, that is.

Seriously, how rich can Mugi’s family get? Just how many villas of this size are there in Japan?

Somehow, I can’t believe I overlooked the fact that Mugi and Mio have the looks to look perfectly at home in such a setting. Mugi-chan’s got to show the rest of the girls what it’s like to play like an oujo-sama some time.

I’m Flying!

All I can say is, silly Mugi-chan. I totally get that she wants to experience the life of a ‘normal girl’ as much as she can, but really, I don’t think the rest of the girls would mind having what her family has to offer at all. Of course, it would distract them from practice more than they already are as it is….

Gotta love how Mugi is channeling Sanae-san by the sidelines there.

And speaking of Sanae-san….let’s put her together with Mio, and present them both with a Bengal monitor lizard and barnacles, respectively. Place your bets, gentlemen.

GOOOOOOAAAAAAAL!!!!!!!

Somehow, the tan actually suits Azusa a lot.

And as was mentioned last week, it’s finally confirmed just how Yui manages to get up to speed with the rest of the band members; having perfect pitch certainly helps a great deal in the production of music. It’s a rare gift, and much envied by many musicians who had to come by their skills the hard and honest way.

It’s an observation made by not a few that in the series, we are almost never shown the girls actually putting in practice; the allusion is made, yes, but the actual process is pretty much deliberately never shown. One has to wonder why KyoAni is going to such pains to cover up the practice sessions; perhaps, it is because they generally don’t want to air the songs that the girls are going to play, until the actual concert episodes themselves. At the very least, that has been the case for Fuwa Fuwa Time and My Love Is A Stapler.

Now, now, what did I say about MugiVision being contagious, boys and girls?

Well Mio-chan, that’s generally what happens to your hands when they have to adapt the capability to strike a concrete blow through Ritsu’s thick skull.

I believe I mentioned the last time that it’s no wonder Sawa-chan’s a Christmas Cake, given how she’s really a creep with the tastes of a perverted old man whose hobby is overdoing stuff like forcing her charges into cosplay. But, you know, it might be worth putting up with all of her eccentricities if she can look like this…..maybe…..

For a studio which can use a rice bowl as their version of censorship, steam in a common bath is a comparatively ‘normal’ way of doing it. Though one has to wonder, if the steam will disappear with the DVD version of this episode much like it does for every other Gonzo work.

YOU’RE GONNA GET RAPED

Would K-ON have perhaps been better if there were just a few more scenes just like this one, where we actually get to see at least some of the girls struggle with the difficulties of polishing their musicianship skills to a satisfactory level? How many more such scenes should have been in there, how should it have been fitted in, and would K-ON still be what it is with them?

It’s called skinship.

In any case, another summer is over, another training camp done with, and this time with Azusa in the mix of things, the girls form yet another precious memory of their youth together, wasting their time on fun things such as only youth their age can do. For one is only young once, and it is the only time in life when one can truly let loose and have fun like no other time; it is the stuff of which nostalgia is made. Time to enjoy life, with all of its eccentricities and quirks that make it what it is.

I was surprised Mio’s hand was so much bigger than Azusa’s.
Also, I doubt actual boobies in the DVD version. It goes against KyoAni policy and also the character design is more prone towards moe and cute situations instead of erotic ones.

I take offense~!!!! it may be helpful for musicians to have perfect pitch, but it also seriously hampers progress… transposing is hell when you don’t change the notes on the page, and you can always tell when someone is off by HOW MUCH of a tone… and songs become letters, not just notes… :S

If you haven’t caught on yet, I have perfect pitch. It’s not all it’s cracked out to be. Though being always on tune is fun… lol

We perfect-pitch-musicians work really hard too!! Each talent comes with a curse, though sometimes they are hard to understand. I work really hard so that I can transpose, forget the score, and just sing the melody via… well, the melody. And singing duets is killer :P

Enough about that, I think Mio is also an almost-ojou-sama character. Considering her headphones are uber expensive, as is her bass guitar… Maybe just not to the extent of Mugi…

@Veester No, no. You see, AKG-K701 is a “mid-fi” level headphone. Sure, it’s expensive, but if you’re into this thing, it’s just an “average” level. Much like how an otaku spends tons of money on anime goods without having to be an almost rich person.

To Ascaloth question on praticing scene, if that were the case, I think K-ON! would get closer to Aria type, showing the girls’ praticing over and over. After seeing their pratice for 40-odd epsides, finally seeing them became Primas was great. But giving a 12-13 episode time frame, I think it would just be “different” and not strictly “better”.

    OMGWTFBBQ… NEED MOAR TAN LINES… *dies*…

I cracked up when Azu-nyan was describing the sempais in her club and when she mentions Ritsu, speak of the devil, she’s sitting right behind her…

They’ll never make it to Budokan, but at least they are playing better than a year ago…

Channeling Sanae-san. That’s a new one. Should be added to the list of other suggestions throw up at Sankaku Complex. I myself tend to gravitate towards any explanation that involves any particular person’s oppai.

ur comment is just too funny XD (especially regarding mio’s hand )

Do not use any < and > for your own sake. It will end the comment there and then. Also, there is an automatic IQ filter which weeds out comments made by those who accidentally got transported from the stone age.
