[Tenshi_MKII] Fate/Zero Review (Light Novel).

Fate/Zero is truly what a Holy Grail War would actually be like, not like the fifth war where we have wimpy Shirou and his antics. As you all may know, this is written by Urobuchi Gen who also brought you the healing awesome anime, Puella Magi Madoka Magica. I will try my best to minimize the spoilers. If you do not want to be spoiled at all, just ignore this post and wait for the anime or simply buy the novel.

The story is broken into many parts, focusing more on Emiya Kiritsugu’s past and his participation during the war. The story starts off with Kiritsugu’s past, how he became a magi and how he got into the war. All I can say is that it was not a very happy childhood. Since it’s written by Urobuchi Gen, it contains quite an amount of blood and gore.

There were many wtf moments, like why Saber can drive any automobile without having to learn, a particular servant that can use anything as a Noble Phantasm(F-16s?). It also explains how Gilgamesh became Kirei’s Servant, how did Kirei became Rin’s guardian and a few other stuff. Oh right, loli Rin and Sakura do make an appearance too :3.

Overall, it has been an enjoyable read but took me really a very very long time to read, my Japanese is really not up to par and with Urobuchi Gen’s fetish for difficult Kanjis, made it longer…

If you feel like giving it a try: Book 1.

If anyone missed it: Trailer for Fate/Zero

God bless Seikaisha for publishing this awesome novel.
