Do not use any < and > for your own sake. It will end the comment there and then. Also, there is an automatic IQ filter which weeds out comments made by those who accidentally got transported from the stone age.

well … erm … that was kinda a fun read … LOLz
even though i get a sense of feeling that i’ve just wasted 5 min of my life …
He was doing okay until he started sniping at other people’s countries. In my opinion, once a person starts doing that, it is a sign that he/she has nothing more to counter with, and attempts to derail the topic( via flamebaiting) so that he/she does not need to suffer the indignity of ‘losing’ the argument.
It is quite common really, especially on the Internet, where the physical threat of being punched in the nose is not present( unless of course, like one of my American moderator friends, you have friends in the FBI and have the ability to trace a person’s actual home address via his IP. We did that once to a troll… it was fun).
Oh, I have to thank you for giving Physics a spoon of his own medicine about the ‘big words’ use. I hope to see some retaliation, internet/IRC drama is so much more fun and crude than life drama. =D
IRC is Serious Business. And haven of all logical arguments. XD
Interweb dorama ftw.
I can’t believe he tried to drag our country into his attacks. Shallow, way way shallow.
Could work a bit on your editing skills. Lost interest after the 25th line.
Hmm… School Rumble is a comedy. Just like Ranma 1/2 is a comedy and Azumanga Daioh is a comedy. Characters in comedy don’t need to move on or improve - if they do, that can good, but if they don’t, it isn’t all that important if the manga is still fun to read.
Besides that: YAY for internet dorama! Me wants more!
Kuro: I can’t do that. I’m not allowed to edit as I wish because then the credibility of this log will be lost. Hence I chose to highlight.
But seriously, I’m not into nationalistic feelings and all. MY COUNTRY IS SCHOOL RUMBLE.
I EXPECT U TO WEAR RED SHIRT AND WHITE PANTS THIS WED.
And here I came back looking for something interesting to read…oh well.
DamN~ Wish I was there to join in. Anyway… Total ownage by you. LoL! =X
zzz. I think that fella is Roarkiller on sgcafe. Same kind of dumbness, same kind of thinking: That he is “GOD”.
For these kind of people, I’ll do it the T_T||| way: “I LOL at you LOL.” AND WHAT THE F*** WERE YOU DOING WITH SUCH DUMBASSES INSTEAD OF WATCHING RAHXEPHON?
“Moving in place”. Thats a physics concept. Technically, no distance is moved (I can’t remember the exact term), but WORK is done, which signifies an effort, and when an effort is made, it means that while there may not be any result, SOMETHING HAS HAPPENED. WORK IS DONE. Stories are not linear like Physics concepts, it has depth too, which includes character development. While the plot might have remained stagnant from certain shallow-minded people’s POV, it certainly has given me insights into the thoughts and characteristics of the various people in the anime.
Physics223 needs to brush up on his physics, btw.
I’ve chatted with physics223 on an number of occasions on the WF forums. I think his main complaint with the series, like a couple of others in Animesuki, is mainly because Onigiri turned out to be a MacGuffin with the arrival of Ep.16 - which is about when the complaints started. After all, progress in an anime is only fun if it’s the progress you were hoping for. Still, doesn’t all this show that SR is popular enough now that it’s worth complaining about?
Personally, I think romance anime should be drawn out - it allows you to see the characters gradually mature over time. I still remember my feelings when I read ch.185 a few weeks ago - it’s a wonderful feeling to think back on how much your favourite characters have grown since the start of the series. Isn’t that the feeling that every romance anime should carry? I haven’t felt anything of the sort since the time I last read KOR and Maison Ikkoku.
That quiz looks like fun.
Oh, so he was angsting about the progress of Onigiri then? I can empathise a little with that, but he needs to take into account the overall situation.
The progress of Flag has been dramatic up till now, and part of the reason on why it is dramatic is because Eri has been an antagonist to Harima almost ever since the beginning. Harima’s relations with Yakumo on the other hand, has always been neutral. At no point has he ever been ‘hostile’ towards Yakumo. So all the ‘progress’ in Onigiri may seem glacier in comparison to Flag.
However, at the present moment, Harima still views Eri as an antagonist, although softened somewhat compared to the start. Yakumo, as usual, is Tenma’s Imouto.
In the ‘grand scheme’, the status quo has not changed yet.
Although I admit I am annoyed by the ‘love charm’ thingy. It just seems too contrived.
My line of thinking is pretty much the same as Sasa’s in that even if there isn’t as much development in SR as there is in anime such as H&C, who cares? (apart from physics223, of course) They are different genres and thus, focus on different things. There are elements of drama / romance, as we all know, but they are very small and more like the thread that binds it all together. The comedy is what makes SR so fun to watch and progression could potentially screw the series up or at least bring it to an end far sooner than any of us want.
If he’s going to make an argument, he should at least think about other people’s opinions first in order to decide whether he really should and if he is, think about how he can show his opinions to others properly. No one wants to hear a whiny brat with no argumentative skills whatsoever tell them that he’s right and they’re wrong. He may think he’s smart by using all these words that people hardly understand but all he’s proving is that people who talk random shit in order to try to get out of a hole they’ve dug themselves into are only going to fall deeper. You may call me old fashioned but, in my opinion, points don’t seem to come across so well when the other party has no clue what you’re going on about half of the time and the other half they seem fabricated out of thin air in order to counter whatever’s being said.
Overall opinion: physics223 is very silly and belongs in a lab so we can find a cure to such a horrible illness as soon as possible. ;P
@Skane: I empathize too. He started watching SR with Season 2 and the OVAs before getting around to watching Season 1, so he was lead to believe that the series was built around Harima and Yakumo from the start. Any series can be disappointing if you expect it to be one thing and it turns out to be another.
This should give you an idea.

-I wouldn’t describe Harima as being neutral - the ground work has always been there for a friendship turned romance, which is what Onigiri fans seem to be hoping for. Onigiri loses out on its dramatic potential because Yakumo doesn’t commit herself. In Eri’s case, the stakes are very high - at this point, her happiness hinges on the successful outcome of her relationship. The consequences of failure are what create dramatic tension.
-The status quo has changed, somewhat. Harima seems to have become quite the tsundere, in a manner of speaking. I see some potential in the future.
-I thought that the ‘love charm’ was rather clever. It’s the same style of idea as many of the earlier developments in that relationship - consider it a running theme.
