Someone was boasting about his room. So here’s an extra post for today, to add to the topic.

I remember having a major spring cleaning just weeks ago. Looks like it didn’t work. I remember posting pictures of it a while back. Time for an update I guess. Maybe I need Misaki to clean it up for me.

Upon opening the door, your right foot will be adjacent to seven Playarts figures and Police Rei (unreviewed). And hawt School Rumble posters.

On top of my bedhead, transformable Eureka seveN LFOs (all unopened from early this year), Sakura Pinky, Tokiko of the EXCELLENT Busou Renkin and Asakura Yoh headphones. There used to be a giant wallscroll of bikini Rikku from FF10-2 but it fell down.

A couple of posters on the closet doors. Open the doors up for a load of Gundam and other model kits. Undone. This will be cleared next year. Completed manga series are stored here as well. There’s about four layers from front to back. The flag is from a shrine in Japan where you get to pick a choice of wealth, love or happiness (I think) fountains to drink from. I chose wealth. Because I already watch and love Happiness! And love sucks.

Now this is the area where a true man spends 90% of his time. From left: the former Guitar Tree now hangs cheap figures. The box down below contains modelling equipment and other miscellaneous stuff, also acting as a footrest. The mountain of boxes are figurines.

A closer look at the Figure Tree.

Recognise anything?

A top view. I’ve a few pencil boards that I don’t really know what to do with.

Gothloli Kanu just came in too.

Unreviewed figures include Sumomomomomomo’s Nakajima Sanae, Chunli and Ignis.

These are some of the newer goods. Miu and Ignis are the latest arrivals. The CDbox is used as a coaster. The MG Freedom is completely painted in its original colours so you can’t tell it’s painted. Ugh. Will never do that again.

This is the really neat shelf for ongoing manga.

A silly purchase - a acrylic display case. Bad idea because trading figures are really taller than you think. Most can’t fit in.

My complete Gundam collection. See how all but one is from Seed or Seed D? It’s thanks to newer technology that make non-MG figure look so good out of the box. For older Gundam series, you have to get the MG versions for it to be any good. Theres HGUC now which isn’t too bad. See the Quberly and Z.

Mecha Musume and some Transformers.

These are the good quality trading figs. Looks like I missed out the Athrun in the corner when I cleared all the GS Seed character merchandise. Yes, I still have full boxes of trading and gashapon figures hidden in the store room because they are ugly. The bottom shelf has FMA non-scale figures. These are extremely cheap for their size, about 1/10. And a Playarts Alphonse.

My room looks pretty messy but it’s really cosy. Everything I need is within reach if I sit on the central swiveling chair. Next week I’m going to purchase two Ikea Detolk glass display shelves to show off some figures, since they are pretty much wasted in the boxes. But boxed figures don’t lean.

FUCK U. I WASN’T BOASTING ABOUT MY ROOM.

Man. Your boxes remind me of La Tendo. HAHAHAHA.

  2. 2 tj_han 1442 comments

    Pwned.

Latendo’s dudes actually have a neater home than their shop. They don’t really display stuff at home. They follow a rotation system like me.

It seems like ages ago when I was baffled by them rotating their displays. I was like, why not display all? LOL.

It’s like I can walk to your room with a nets on one hand, and then walk out with a bag full of figures after that.

And I’m amazed your mom doesn’t bitch about all of those figures around.

Aw man, I was thinking of doing a similar post. But still, doesn’t hurt to do so. I have a friend who has about the same amount of figures as you, but you have more Gundams. So many figures, so little room.

You should have seen ollin’s or mononari’s collection. Theirs are far more than Tsubaki or you can boast.

Yes hidden, I only started in mid last year. But unfortunately, it’s getting out of hand to become a slight embarassment because of improper storage.

    Is Army 3G a figurine?

And my mom was complaining about my room. D:

I like keeping boxes too, but since I display my figurines out of the box, my parents think I’m collecting junk (i.e. the boxes)

Army 3G, featuring Sgt Rocky in the latest SAF gear…

What’s the point of buying figurines when you can’t display them? I’d rather give them away than keep in boxes. And I never knew you bought Sanae.

My room is SH!T compared to you guys. Shared it with my bro for 5 years until a march this year when my sister moved to paris. So my rooms walls are scarred with ripped off paint and torn soccer posters of ryan giggs, wayne rooney and other EPL stars. Sigh..and my only figurine is that squall one my friend gave me..its now covered in a nice grey coat [s]of dust[/s]. Cool room dude but have you ever tried moving the boxes out of the way so you don’t trip and break something?

At first, I thought that the comments were captions, and therefore referred to the picture above rather than below them. This made me laugh when I saw “Now this is the area where a true man spends 90% of his time” because rather than it being your desk (where yes, a true man spends 90% of his time), it was inside your closet.

Why did I read that “your boxers”? lol

jpmeyer: LOL true. Now that was funny.

Those IKEA cases are standard figure collector gear. This weekend I’m buying two more. Also if you have a level to make sure your surfaces are level, you’ll minimize leaning.

    Scary.

XD If you don’t want the pencil boards, I’ll take them XD

How many figures do you have in total? Did you ever bother counting them?

Also, your dinosaur pillow is awesome.

To say the least, it looks magnificent.

I think leaving the 1/8s and 1/6s in their boxes are a neat trick coz that way not only will you prevent them from bending, you also dun really need to find a place to keep their boxes… killing two stones with one bird!!! =)

  23. 23 Zer0jisan 135 comments

tj_han> you can use A-4 clear folder sleeves to keep your pencil boards, or use the mounting tape clear sleeve solution to display the boards. Double sided boards? either scan the reverse side for display or buy two of the same board so that you can display both front and back.

For the older manga (since my secondary school days), I use those huge clear plastic boxes (tubs?) to seal them up for storage. Hmm, perhaps it’s time to break open those time capsules….

Hmm, for an Ota, I don’t see any tissue boxes in your room….

  24. 24 tj_han 1442 comments

JP: That’s a footpillow. I’ve been using it since the days when Jurassic Park was hot.

Zer0: I mount most of my pencil boards on my office wall but now that I’m leaving soon, I didn’t really bother bringing the new boards to the office. I’ll probably mount them all when I bring the office ones back. As for tissues, that’s a good idea. I’m no otaku though. I’m a healthy young man.

What a messy room haha XD

  27. 27 AsouKai 85 comments

For you, there’s really no point in buying figurines. The whole idea of ‘buying so i can display in my room’ has been horridly distorted by your buildings and trees of figurine boxes.

What I really mean is, it’s time to get a storeroom man.

  28. 28 TedFox 85 comments

what happens when u pull a box from the bottom

  29. 29 Tsubaki 519 comments

AsouKai hit the head of the nail. Straight on.

I think he’s right. What you need to do, is deposit some of them at my house.

  30. 30 Danny Choo 24 comments

Wow. All kept in their boxes too!

  31. 31 yangyang 20 comments

Dunno what to do with your pencil boards? Gimme!

You have the biggest collection of figures I’ve seen. Actually a toss-up between with some other person. Nice collection of stuff and nice (if uber messy) room.

  33. 33 double 115 comments

Hey,how much have u spent so far,on all your collections?kinda curious about that, heh.
And also, what do use to stick your posters with? scotch tape, double sided tape, bluetac?

  34. 34 tj_han 1442 comments

Never really counted. For manga I have a stocklist and it’s about 7000 Singapore dollars. As for figures, I don’t have a concrete figure lol.

I use bluetac. The rest cause more damage.

    To tj_han,

    Re: Your room

I am so jealous. I have friends with neat collections and friends with lots & lots of stuff. However, you may have as many figurines as all of them put together. And that’s a lot. No doubt started on your figurine focus for this site.

    An impressive collection.

Danny Choo left a comment in here o.o

Where do the money come from.. trees? or fountains? This entry is making a lot of people envious ._.

  37. 37 tj_han 1442 comments

Actually, I’m still a fledgling collector and most of my items are rather cheap. Relatively. I need to share the stories on people who have to rent separate houses just for their iems.
