Figure News: Bridal Ignis, Furry Ryuk and Barasuishou. Ignis is NSFW!
Published by tj_han April 28th, 2007It’s been months since I last did figure news. I just didn’t feel like it I guess. But today I went and ordered two new figures, Takara’s Masterpiece 06 Skywarp and Kotobukiya’s Shining Tears’ Blanc Neige. The Transformer is my first of the Masterpiece series. I was tempted to get Megatron but he was too big of a dick in the show for me.
Blanc was an impulse order because she was showing lots of boobies.
Anyway there are a few interesting hobby new. The Gunslinger Girls trading figure set is out so let’s all remind ourselves to go get it. I’m rather forgetful these days.
Orchid Seed is also releasing yet another naked version of Ignis but this time, she’s in her full wedding gown. Many otaku have been waiting for the wedding gown version. But Orchid Seed sucks. 1/7 scale, 29 cm tall, September 2007 release. It’s a hefty 11700 yen though.
Then for the Deathnote fans, Ryuk gets his own statue. This is insanely detailed. I wonder if its real fur. It’s 50 cm tall (the wings are very high) and costs 9240 yen. Which makes it hell of a lot more worth it than the Ignis above. Still expensive though. This is by Jun Planning and will be released in September as well.
Finally, even though I sold most of my SR DX figures, Yuujin still refuses to give up with their shitty versions of the Rozen Maiden. Next is Barasuishou, costing 3740 yen, coming to us in July 2007. Sculpted by Kanagusa of GK Operations, it looks nice in the promo pics yeah? But don’t be fooled. The base is especially pretty but don’t be fooled. The end product will be nothing like the promos.

I like that Ignis, but the removable clothing on this figure is extremely dumb. The whole point of the figure is the dress. @.@?
MP-06 Skywarp FTW! I have MP-03 Starscream myself and I really like the mold despite the fact that it is not show-accurate ( a major gripe for Transformer fans) Another great thing is that the mold is to scale with Yamato’s 1/60 Macross figures, so you can even swap around the small little pilots (though I’m not sure if Skywarp will have one since Starscream already had Dr Archeville). I guess it is no suprise considering the mold is also designed by Kawamori Shouji.
Wow the ryuk looks so detailed it’s kinda freaky
the bridal Ignis is nice but the price is a real put off, a hefty 11700 yen for a 1/7, maybe because she’s limited to 2000 hence the hefty price. that Ryuk really look sweet
Damn! Ryuk looks real good. It’s got that signature Takeshi Obata aura emitting from it.
The price seems rather steep though…
I like the skirt on Ignis in the photo but not so much the rest, and it looks like it will look worse in real life than it does in photos. For that price it would have to be perfect for me to buy it.

ya know, the irony of that ignis figure is that 40% of the price will be for the dress… everybody’s a lot more interested on whats underneath it, however.
I definitely like the Ryuk and Blanc but Ignis not so much, even though her dress does come off which gives it my attention. Maybe if she was holding a sword at the same time with a better pose will I get interested in buying it.

I reckon Bridal Ignis looks good… It’s not the suit, it’s the hair man… i don’t really know why, but I was more attracted to her upper body(with or without her clothes on) however HLJ’s orders are closed… and what’s this? Ami Ami has a 2nd load of them due in Oct… *waits for HLJ to reopen their orders*
This Blanc figure is very nice, I´ve searched ebay, hlj, and 1999 but have not found it, is it pre order?
I kind of like the Bridal Ignis. The curves and design of the dress are so nice. The face looks a bit plain but thats nt too bad. And i just realised that the clothes are removable! LOL. I just called theanimehouse about pre-ordering and they say that this ignis is quite limited and their supplier cannot garantee how much thay can get so i am still on the waiting list. Hope i can get this figurine!
