Kaiyodo’s new Revoltech is a newly implemented joint technology that allows for very smooth action figure joint movements with a great range of articulation. It does so with a combination of 3 pivot joints. That makes the joint able to move in almost any direction. Basically, this offers range of movement surpassing even that of a ball and socket joint but does not suffer from the wear and tear friction issues of the latter. Of course, the Revoltech joint owns normal pivot joints as it not only has greater flexibility but also looks a lot less obvious.
The new series of action figures by Kaiyodo that feature this new technology is called the Revoltech series. Each of the figures from this series will cost 1995 yen and will be released on the 15th of each month. The materials used for the action figures are ABS and PVC and each of these have an average height of 12 cm.
Kaiyodo released their lineup info for this series during Winter Wonderfest 2006.
May
- Shin Getter 1
- Combat Armour Dougram
- Dante
June
- EVA-01
- EVA-00
July
- EVA-02
- King Gainer
August
- Shin Getta 2
- EVA-03
September
- Ingram-01
- EVA-00 (Modified)

These I am probably getting. I like the two on the right but to make up the set, I have to get those on the left.

These are pretty cool too. From left: Shin Getter-1, Combat Armour Dougram and Dante from Devil May Cry.
Focus: Real Robot Line Evangelion Type-1
The main mecha used in the series Neon Genesis Evangelion, this EVA-01 really needs no further mention, such is the popularity. I hate this actually.
The Revoltech joints are used in the ankles, knees, torso, neck, wrists and shoulders. This gives it unrivalled poseability while maintaining the clean look of a fixed pose figurine.
Optional parts are:
- Two heads
- Umbilical cable
- Left and right gripping hands
- Right gun holding hand,
- Left and right melee weapon hand
- Left open hand
Weapons are:
- Handgun
- Progressive Knife
- Rifle
- Magrock Exterminator Sword.

Do not use any < and > for your own sake. It will end the comment there and then. Also, there is an automatic IQ filter which weeds out comments made by those who accidentally got transported from the stone age.

These revoltech figurines are WAY TOO small in scale. It’s just a bit taller than the vintage starwars figurines that i have. Great detail and stuff but the size just really pissese me off! Thank god I didn’t buy one on ebay.. I was so disappointed when I saw the actual figure in the store!
Actually I love the size of these figures. they are highly detailed and poseable. They remind me of the good old dayz of the 80’s, smaller 3 and 1/2 to 6 inch figures with details like G.I. joe, most transformers, silver hawks, mask, C.O.Ps, etc. Not like the crap with no poseability from McFarlane Toys!
I love anything vintage, especially old toys and cars.
I bought a few (7) and I love them, can’t wait to collect more.
