Loading ...It’s not everyday that you find your manga-ka looking exactly like his main character. Here is one guy who doesn’t need to cosplay to be Harima - Kobayashi Jin!
It’s weird that I’m interested in the photograph of a male. But when Maki Maki from the Wannabe Forums excitedly announced that he got lucky at the Hawaiian Anime Festival, the Kawaii Kon, and got to meet Kobayashi Jin. On top of that, he won some lucky draw and was one of three people who had the chance to ask for any character from SR to be drawn personally by the sensei himself!! OOOH lucky lucky guy!!
What is so fascinating about this piece of news is that Kobayashi Jin (KJ) is known to be an extremely private person who does not like being photographed and quite possibly, this is the first time such clear pictures have appeared on the net, at least the English Internet. Before this, the only picture was a very blur scan from a Taiwanese newspaper.
While I understand his personal wish to stay out of the lime light, the temptation to share is just too great. Once again, thank you lucky boy MakiMaki for this picture! He also received a personalised drawing of the beautiful Tsundere Goddess. How lucky is that, seriously?
The Kanji reads Kobayashi Jin and that’s a painted moustache. He’s in Harima mode I guess.
The Wannabe Wiki has this to say about KJ.
“Creator and author of School Rumble. In the anime, he voices the role of Sailor F in Episode 25. He also narrates the prehistoric section of OVA 2. He seems to be interested in keeping a low profile and as such, relatively little is known about him. An interesting point is that Kobayashi-sensei’s appearance resembles Harima, a fact that caused some fan speculation on how much of Harima is based off of himself.

Basic Intro
KJ was born on 1977, 25 May in either Tokyo or Chiba. (There are two accounts from conflicting official sources. Maybe he was a twin but fused into one).
In 2001, he won the Weekly Shounen Magazine’s Rookie Award (it’s open to amateurs only) and the subsequent year, he had the opportunity to serialise School Rumble in the same magazine. It has been 4 years and more than 170 chapters since then!

- KJ plays basketball in his free time.
- His favourite character, Harima Kenji, is apparently modelled 30% after himself and the rest after his friends’ experiences.
- He started drawing manga seriously in college.
- He’s a poor gamer.
- He’s close friends with Akamatsu Ken (Lovehina, Negima), Arima Keitarou (Tsukuyomi Moonphase), Sao Takeshi (who’s a seiyuu with roles like Sakuragi Hanamichi of Slamdunk, Trunks of Dragonball etc)

This is the real Harima Kenji no doubt. The manga/anime is based on his life story. Believe me, I’m serious.

its bullshit that school rumble ended up like this! if anyone thinks that the story ends like this and there is nothing else to be told then your wrong, i think that the story begins now and if the manga continued even another 20 vol. it would be more attractive and more promising….. it would the biggest mistake to throw away one of the best romantic commedy story ….. if you are reading this kobayashi jin you should know that your making the biggest mistake of your life and your leaving a treasure slip from your hands.
