Valentine’s Day! What are You Doing on That Day?

Loading ...It is now the 13th of February, just 24 hours before the possibly most-commercialised and dangerous day for all males around the globe. While some of us might huddle in anger (preferably at home with a dakimakura or a lot of figures watching hentai porn), others are getting fleeced at pirate restaurants with shitty fixed menus with prices jacked up 200x just because it’s a "Couples’ Set Dinner", which is just a worse version of a normal set dinner.
Let’s make a guess what our dear Animebloggers would be up to on that day…
DarkMirage will be watching episodes of Gundam 00 with his girlfriend, BrightOasis. He will serenade her with witty and cynical ramblings on why Sumeragi is a bad tactician and the Throne Gundams are EVILLL. Oh, they will watch it on a romantic 42 inch LCD screen.
Impz of THAT will have bought a spanking new high quality sound system and an advanced psionic microphone, so he can Skype in the BEST QUALITY with his American girlfriend.
Saturnine will be writing long and wordy blog posts about the idealistic romance of Kimikiss and relating his anger at the vile commercialism of V day.
DrmChrso of orz will surf 4chan, but find it difficult to make much progress because the servers are slow from the extremely high volume of traffic. (see above). He will also be ranting about why Jesus invented Valentines’ but did not include him in the invitations.
Ascaloth will be watching Clannad episode 17 again for the 42nd time, and flaming some anime blog as well.
Sasa will be in a canoe with her boyfriend, under a starry moon-lit night, where he’ll sing love songs while strumming a guitar. And the boat will rock violently after a while.
As for myself, I have school from 8 am to 6 pm and an exam from 4 pm onwards. I have yet to plan the itinerary yet, but it’s difficult because a) it’s rather late b) there’s school the next day c) Singapore is tiny d) I have already spent quite a bit during the making of the present.
Any suggestions?
Speaking of the present, I made her something simple, after much brainstorming. While there were several ideas, most of them proved too time-consuming to produce in real life.
Below is the entire expenditure so far for V-day:
1 x Beer Cup from IKEA - free, dug out from closet
Cotton Wool - 90 cents
Strawberry-scented dried assorted flowers from Daiso - 2 dollars
1 x Turtle plushie keychain - 4.90 dollars
1 x Cow plushie keychain - 4.90 dollars
1 x Heart plushie keychain - 4.90 dollars
2 x bags Red sand from IKEA - 7 dollars (bought too much)
2 x bags White sand from IKEA - 7 dollars (bought too much)
1 x Handbag holder - free from Grandma
1 x Pack of Glossy photo paper - 14.90 (ripoff)
3 x Sunflowers to be delivered - 19 dollars
1) Fill up the cup to 2/3 full, alternating with red and white sand. This forms a Gurren Lagann-styled Spiral. Ok almost.
2) Add some fluffy cotton wool.
3) Add the dried flowers.
4) Place the plushies into the cup and stick the handbag holder in.
5) Clip the keychain/HP straps off the plushies, as well as the labels
6) Celebrate like it’s a load of work done!!
I took 4 new figure photoreviews. Look forward, especially to the one with nipples.
Easy right? The handbag holder is actually a pretty nifty gadget that allows you to hang your handbag off any table top without fear of it falling! Useful for places such as restaurants, classrooms etc where you don’t want to have to put your bag on the dirty ground and yet have no space for it. She loves cows as much as I love sports and mecha anime, so she gets a cow plushie. The turtle is me, cos I love Ninja Turtles and I have lots of turtle plushies. I foresee some possible problems, such as the sand mixing together and losing the striation when I carry the thing to school and she carries it home. Or the glass cracking and breaking due to the sheer mass of the contents (happened before, this IKEA cup series is pretty poor).
The cow looks like it’s been drugged and forcibly inserted.
But that’s not all!
With my rudimentary Photoshop skills (they might be basic in the online world but in the real world, 90 percent of guys still use MS Paint) I created the "Princess Ticket"! It’s basically a glossy printed card that entitles her to have one wish fulfilled per card, and I printed 5 of those. Let’s hope she doesn’t make me 1) Eat shit 2) Buy a Ferrari for her 3) Kiss fat men 4) Watch True Tears and 5) Sell my figures.
Forgive my shitty pictures, it was late at night and the sun was slacking off.
It’s probably not all. I got like, six tiny glass bottles which I intend to half fill with cotton wool and red + white sand and then insert a mini-bouquet of Ixora flowers in. But I’ll get like six different ways to present it to her at different times of the day.
So that’s it for this year! Any of you guys making stuff as well?

What’s Valentine’s Day?
Upload a special header banner I made for the occasion, get a pack of beer and game thru the night…y’know, what I do pretty much every day.
That’s a pretty impressive ensemble of presents you’ve put together.
As for myself, I’ll be celebrating all the other things Valentine is patron saint of (plague victims, for example), tucking into a delicious lentil curry and probably trying to make some progress with ZZ.

Overall, though, very cute!
I’ll be whipping up a batch of homemade pity chocolate for my unfortunate guy friends who are completely girlfriend-less (or just socially awkward). Gotta appreciate the 1:3 girl-guy ratio at my college.
Also, contemplating getting a figma Konata figurine.
I will be taking a midterm and studying for another midterm and writing a history paper.

Get your girlfriend/imouto/oneesan to cosplay for you. Just resist all temptation to…
1) Forget the entire episode, when you can just loop the deredere Kyou being stuck in the gym….and fap.
2) Watch the moe Noe ….and fap.
3) Go get a Kyou/Ryou figurine and stare at it……under it…..and fap, imagining being with the two simultaneously. (Kyou-Ryou-ku shimashou? Shall we ‘co-operate’?)
4) Offer girls to look up a hidden scar at the back, which they themselves didn’t even know existed. (Here’s looking at you, Ms Furukawa)
5) Watch real p0rn made by top, well-known Hong Kong actor (singular, not plural!) and actresses.
6) Do it with the ‘clean prostitutes of Kazakhstan’ whilst singing praises of the ‘clean’ country. Sexy time!!!
7) Buy ODEX goods for your girlfriend(s) to show how much you appreciate them. If you are not willing to spend on your favourite anime/animu, will you even spend on your favourite girl(s)?
9) Visit a nearby maid cafe and tip them well! In cold hard cash! Not bloody doujins or figures! They are sacrificing their Valentine so you can celebrate yours, so please do appreciate it more! Chocolate is not so advisable unless you promise you won’t squash it, let it melt or steal a bite.
10) Go study more Japanese so you can pick up (real) Japanese high school girls at the nearby W*s*da-Sh*b*ya Japanese High School at We** Coa** Road.
11) Rewatch the part where Tsukasa gives the chocolate to Konata. MOE!!!
12) Get beer. If you get a girl, drink to celebrate. Get her drunk too. Then, (fill in the blanks). Or else, if you fail, get yourself drunk to forget your misery.
13) Last but not least, write (baka-baka) comments on RIUVA!
